Man With Suspended License Crashes Into Conn. Cruiser

Hartford police said a man driving with a suspended license crashed into a police car early Monday. The officer and the driver were both hospitalized.

Jan. 02--Hartford police said a man driving with a suspended license crashed into a police car early Monday.

The crash occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Weston Street. Police said an officer driving a marked patrol car tried to turn left onto West Service Road when a car driven by Victor Gaudalupe of Hartford lost control and broadsided the police car.

Both Guadalupe and the officer were taken to St. Francis Hosptial and Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Guadalupe was arrested after being treated at the hospital, police said.

Guadalupe, 37, was charged with driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered car and driving without insurance.

The name of the officer involved in the crash, and the extent of his injuries, was not released.
