NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- A joint operation between the Newport News and Hampton police departments led to authorities arresting 11 people on drug related offenses on Dec. 15. The departments conducted undercover drug buys at various locations in Newport News.
Harold Eley, a spokesman for Newport News police, said the two cities worked together to identify the suspects because drug activity frequently moves between the areas. The operation started on June 29.
