SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Police say a 32-year-old woman and 18-year-old man were shot around 9 p.m. Thursday night at the intersection of Emmett and Steuben streets.
The woman, who lives on Albany Street, was shot once in the abdomen and underwent surgery for her wounds, while the man, who lives on Emmett Street, was peppered with birdshot from his head to legs, police said.
Neither victim's injuries are believed to be life-threatening, police said. Both were taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Investigators said they know of no link between the two and that a person detained at the shooting scene was questioned and released without charges.
