Cell Phone Helps Mo. Police Track Armed Robbers

Police tracked three armed robbery suspects this morning after they allegedly took a man's cell phone during a street robbery and then drove into Kansas City, Kan.

Dec. 15--Police tracked three armed robbery suspects this morning after they allegedly took a man's cell phone during a street robbery and then drove into Kansas City, Kan.

The suspects allegedly drove up in a Jeep and confronted a man about 6:45 a.m. who was walking in the 3500 block of Wyoming Street, according to Officer Darin Snapp, a police spokesman. At least one of the suspects got out and demanded the man's money. The man gave the robbers his iPhone.

Kansas City police used satellite positioning information from the phone to track the suspects as they drove into Kansas City, Kan.

Kansas City, Kan., police picked up the search and the Jeep crashed near Klamm Park near North 22nd Street and Cleveland Avenue.

After searching the area, police were able to arrest all three suspects.
