ST. LOUIS -- An off-duty Beverly Hills police officer fatally shot a burglar who broke into his home in the 5100 block of Lotus Avenue on Tuesday night, St. Louis police said.
The male burglar's name and age were not available Tuesday night. He was pronounced dead at the scene following the 6:20 p.m. shooting.
The Beverly Hills officer was inside his home when the burglar broke in, police said. The officer was not hurt. The case remains under investigation.
