VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- A Virginia Beach police officer is charged with misdemeanor larceny after he was accused of stealing "personal property" from the Second Precinct.
Albert Leonard Mills, 56, is charged with petit larceny. He has been with the department for 16 years. Police spokeswoman Grazia Moyers said Mills has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation.
Moyers said an investigation into missing property from the precinct led investigators to the conclusion that an officer was responsible for the thefts. Mills was arrested and released on a personal recognizance bond.
