Alleged Drunk Man Crashes Car Into N.C. 'Booze it and Lose it' Bus
NEWTON, N.C.
A Catawba County man faces several charges after he ran into a state blood alcohol testing bus at a DWI checkpoint Sunday morning.
In the incident happened on Business 321 in Newton at about 2:30 a.m.
Police said 21-year-old Douglas Southard plowed into the back of the bus.
Southard was taken to the Catawba Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
According to police, Southard was driving with a revoked license at the time of the crash.
There were more than a dozen patrol cars at the checkpoint when the crash happened.
