Dec. 03--A man was arrested Saturday morning after hitting a Wichita police officer.
Officers were called just before 1 a.m. to a convenience store in the 2700 block of south Oliver.
The clerk at the store told dispatchers that a "customer was saying a lot of odd things," said Wichita police Sgt. Bart Brunscheen. "She got very nervous based on the statements and decided to call 911."
When police arrived, the customer became combative and "he did strike the officer in the face," Brunscheen said.
The officer wasn't seriously hurt, he said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of the battery of a law enforcement officer, Brunscheen said.
