DALLAS -- A man who stole a pickup truck and led police in a chase that ended on a runway at Dallas Love Field Airport has been sentenced to 22½ years in prison.

Michael Browne pleaded guilty last fall to a federal charge of interfering with security screening personnel. A federal judge in Dallas sentenced the 47-year-old on Wednesday.

State charges of criminal mischief and evading law officers are pending against Browne.

He has been in custody since the Aug. 19, 2010, incident in which he drove the truck through an airport fence and along a runway. Live TV images showed police ramming the pickup to stop the vehicle and pulling Browne from the cab.
