GLASTONBURY, Conn. -- When Tara Mohan placed an ad on craigslist saying she wanted to buy marijuana, it wasn't a drug dealer who met her to make the sale, police said.

It was narcotics officers.

Mohan, 24, of Arawak Drive in East Hartford, was charged Wednesday with conspiracy to possess more than a half-ounce of marijuana. Also arrested on the charge was Thomas Roth, 24, of the same address, police said.

Each was released on a promise to appear in Superior Court in Manchester.

Once undercover officers found out about the ad and determined the meeting place -- the Stop & Shop on Glastonbury Boulevard -- they waited for Mohan to arrive, they stated in a press release. She and Roth were peacefully taken into custody, police said.

The East Central Narcotics task force made the arrest. The drug squad works to stop illegal drug sales in Glastonbury, Manchester, South Windsor and Vernon. Anyone with information about such activity is asked to call the task force at 860-645-5548.
