NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Four people were shot -- one fatally -- on Sunday, police said.
At least two of the shootings may be related, they said.
The first shooting victim checked in at Yale-New Haven Hospital about 3 p.m. The teen-ager later told police he had been shot in the leg near Shelton Avenue and Read Street, police said.
Two hours later, shots were fired in the same neighborhood. When police arrived, they heard that a black car had left the scene. They found the car on Elm Street, occupied by 21-year-old Gordon Pettaway, who had a bullet wound to the left shoulder.
The fatal shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. A friend found Andre Kelly dead on Whalley Avenue about 7:30 p.m.
The fourth shooting victim was Kevin Moore, 20, who checked himself into the Hospital of St. Raphael to be treated for gunshot wounds. His shooting and that of Pettaway are believed to stem from the same incident, police said..
