N.C. Sheriff's Deputies Find New Patrol Cars Propped on Cinder Blocks

Seven wheels and tires were stolen from newly purchased Lincoln County sheriff's deputy patrol cars during the past two weeks.

LINCOLNTON, N.C.

Seven wheels and tires were stolen from newly purchased Lincoln County sheriff's deputy patrol cars during the past two weeks.

The cars were being stored inside a fenced-in area at the Transportation Lincoln County lot.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said the wheels were stolen sometime between Oct. 26 and Nov. 9, when personnel discovered three new Ford Crown Victorias propped up on cement blocks.

The wheels and tires are valued at $2,355.

The sheriff said deputies have since moved the patrol cars to a more secure location and are checking local tire stores and scrapyards for the missing tires.
