The Montgomery Police Department has arrested a 33-year-old Montgomery man in connection with two recent armed robberies.
Police charged David Brian Martin of Lamar Road this week with four counts of first-degree robbery and placed him in the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he was being held under bonds totaling $420,000, according to information provided by the MPD.
Martin is charged in connection with the Oct. 25 armed robbery of an elderly Honeysuckle Road resident and the Sunday robbery of two teenagers and their mother in the Sturbridge neighborhood.
In the October robbery, the 76-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint and assaulted outside her home when she returned to her residence shortly after 11 p.m. In the November incident, two teenagers were robbed as they returned home and exited their vehicle at about 8:50 p.m. The armed suspect forced his way with the teenagers into the home, where he took property from the homeowner before fleeing, according to the release.
MPD's investigation into the Sunday robbery quickly identified Martin as a suspect, and he was apprehended and charged Monday. Investigators developed information that also linked Martin to the Oct. 25 robbery and he was charged Tuesday in connection with that incident, according to the release.
Montgomery Police Chief Kevin Murphy praised the work of police investigators.
"At the end of the day, it's about driving down crime and keeping our community safe," Murphy said.
The investigation is continuing.
