Metro Police and SWAT conducted a sting operation around 4:41 p.m. Monday and uncovered an alleged synthetic drug lab -- which is somewhat unique, according to a law enforcement officer.
"I don't know of any other time where they were making synthetic cocaine and marijuana," said Lt. Laz Chavez, of Metro's narcotics unit. "It was huge."
Chavez described the warehouse located at the 3600 block of Highland Drive as a super synthetic lab with a large undetermined amount of fabricated drugs.
Metro is working with Utah authorities who recently stopped a group with 500 pounds of synthetic drugs believed to have come from the Las Vegas warehouse, Chavez said.
The synthetic pot is known as spice and the synthetic cocaine is referred to as bath salts, police said.
Both drugs are illegal under federal law, said Chavez, adding that spice has also been made illegal in May by the Nevada pharmaceutical board.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing.
