COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. -- Colonial Heights police announced Monday the arrest of a suspect in connection with a shooting from Oct. 19, that left the window of a truck shattered.
Police said that they arrested Joshua Earl Sano, 21, a resident of Colonial Heights, on Oct. 21, when, with assistance from the Chesterfield County Tactical Team, a warrant was served on a residence in the 100 block of Dupuy Avenue.
Police were able to take Sano into custody without incident and recovered several weapons including two pistols and two long-arms during the execution of the search warrant.
According to police on Oct. 19 shortly after midnight police responded to a laundromat in the 1200 block of the Boulevard for a disturbance between several subjects and a report of one gunshot heard. About six hours later they responded to the 100 block of Lee Avenue for reports of multiple shots heard in the area. When officers arrived they found a pickup truck that had been struck by apparent gunfire. Through the investigation officers were able to identify Sano as a suspect in both incidents.
He is currently facing three misdemeanor charges of brandishing, a misdemeanor charge of discharging a firearm in a public place, a misdemeanor charge of reckless handling of a firearm, a felony charge of attempted murder and a felony charge of malicious wounding.
