Oct. 26--WHEATFIELD--A Niagara Falls man who crossed the yellow line while driving, almost hitting a patrol car, was charged with driving while under the combined influence of drugs or alcohol Sunday night.
James J. Grady, 54, of Hird Street, was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving under a combined influence of drugs and alcohol, driving on the shoulder of the road and failure to keep right.
A Niagara County sheriff's deputy said he had to maneuver to avoid a collision at 9 p.m. on River Road and saw the vehicle continue to cross the center line and then veer onto the shoulder a number of times.
