Douglas C. Biehl, 49, is accused of attempted assault with a vehicle, aggravated assault and 14 other charges.

According to police, Biehl objected on Sunday night when police started to take his mother to a hospital. The request was made by her husband, who told police that she has dementia, hit him with a shoe and scratched his face.

Following a confrontation at the police station, Biehl was arrested at the family's Eisele Road residence.
