California Police Fatally Shoot Armed Fugitive

ANTIOCH, Calif. -- Police officers fatally shot an armed fugitive Monday in the 2400 block of Lemontree Court, according to police.

The 33-year-old Antioch man, whose name was not released, was shot in a carport around 5:50 p.m. after officers discovered he had a handgun, according to a news release from the Antioch Police Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was wanted in connection with two arrest warrants, one on burglary charges and the other for selling a controlled substance and violating his probation, according to the news release.
