CHARLOTTE, N.C.
A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer was involved in a pair of car accidents early Monday afternoon.
The accidents happened around 12:30 p.m near the intersection of Beatties Ford Road and St. Paul Street.
According to the man who caused the first accident, he said he looked away from the road and rear-ended another car. When the officer arrived at the scene, she stopped in the middle of the street to block traffic. That's when another car rear-ended the officer's cruiser.
Medic dispatched three emergency medical vehicles to the scene. A total of three people were taken to nearby hospitals. One person complained of neck and shoulder injuries. Police officials said the officer had non-life-threatening injuries.
Police officials have not commented on the severity of the injuries or said how the accident happened.
