MILWAUKIE, Ore. --
The number of bodies in a Northwest killing spree climbed to four Monday after police linked a California slaying to a man and a woman already suspected of killing a couple in Washington state and an Oregon teenager.
The body of Reginald Alan Clark, 53, was found Friday in a car in Eureka, Calif., said Oregon State Police Lt. Gregg Hastings. Clark was found shot in the head by Eureka police investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle.
David Joseph Pedersen, 31, and his girlfriend, Holly Grigsby, 24, are suspected in all four deaths. They were arrested north of Sacramento last week after a California Highway Patrol officer noticed they were driving the car of slain Oregon teen, Cody Myers.
No other details were released about the Eureka death. Police there did not immediately return calls from The Associated Press.
It was the latest grim development in a crime spree that started with the discovery of the stabbed body of Pedersen's stepmother - Leslie Pedersen - on Sept. 28 and the disappearance of her husband, David Jones Pedersen.
Police say the younger Pedersen and Grigsby fled in his father's Jeep. The vehicle was found with a body inside over an embankment near a logging road in Oregon on Friday. That body has not been identified.
The body of Myers, 19, was found earlier last week in a wooded area in Western Oregon.
David Joseph Pedersen told a California newspaper on Monday that he killed his father for molesting his sister when she was younger. He told The Appeal Democrat that he killed David Jones Pedersen because it was "his responsibility to make sure it didn't happen again."
The younger Pederson also took "full responsibility" for the crimes reported in the media so far, and for a fourth death that had been unreported at the time of the jailhouse interview.
Hastings said it was not believed that more bodies will be found.
