Oklahoma Police Chief Accused of Drug Trafficking
VALLEY BROOK, Okla. --
The police chief of an Oklahoma town has been arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, deputies said.
Creek County sheriff's deputies arrested Valley Brook Police Chief Melvin Fisher Jr. over Labor Day weekend, they said.
According to a police affidavit, officers found drugs, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana inside his vehicle. They also found several sets of digital scales, police said.
Fisher's passenger -- Jimmie Palmer -- had an outstanding warrant and was also arrested.
Fisher has been the police chief in Valley Brook for 22 years and was an officer prior to that.
The second in command is now the acting chief, police said.
