The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a man accused of kidnapping, sexual assault, robbery and impersonation of a police officer.

Sgt. Mary DeGeare said that about 9:45 a.m. Sept. 4, a woman was contacted by a man in the area of 19th Street and Union Avenue.

After soliciting the woman to get into the car, DeGeare said the man identified himself as a police officer, handcuffed the woman, and sexually assaulted her.

The man is described as Hispanic, 22 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 245 pounds, having black hair in a “fade” style haircut, brown eyes, light mustache, medium complexioned, with a pierced upper lip and a tattoo of “CON” in cursive writing on his left hand.

At the time, DeGeare said he was driving a “boxy” style 1980s-90s baby blue truck with a painted white area on the exterior of the tailgate.

Anyone with information regarding this crime or the identity of this suspect is encouraged to call Detective Dennis Eddy at 326-3557.
