INDIANAPOLIS --
Indianapolis Metro Police responded to the scene of a rush-hour accident involving one of their own officers on Wednesday.
The accident happened at about 5 p.m. at 38th Street and Falls Creek Parkway near the state fairgrounds, officials said.
First responders did not release any details about the officer's injuries. Officials said an SUV was also involved and that the events leading up to the crash were still under investigation.
Traffic on East 38th Street was shut down for a brief time until the accident cleared, officials said.
