LOUISVILLE, Ky. --

Metro police helped federal authorities in a multistate investigation into human trafficking.

The investigation led to the indictments of nine people -- two of them in Louisville.

That investigation was centered in Tennessee and Kentucky. Two houses were targeted in Louisville; one being called a brothel, the other, a front for a prostitution delivery service.

The feds said a home at 9910 Merioneth Drive in Jeffersontown was being used as a brothel.

Obdulio Morales and Esthela Vasquez were arrested and are now in federal custody.

They are among nine facing interstate prostitution charges believed to be involved in human trafficking.

No one answered the door when WLKY knocked at the door Wednesday morning.

However, two people -- a man and a woman -- were standing next to the back door. They were both Hispanic; both appeared to be in their late teens or early 20s.

After saying they didn't live in the house, the woman ran inside.

Initially, the man wouldn't tell WLKY his name or why he was at the house and said he doesn't know who actually lives there.

Then he stopped talking and went inside.

WLKY got no answer after knocking at the door at 5514 Riata Court in Newburg, either.

Federal agents said the house was used for a prostitution delivery service run by Morales and Vasquez.

Court documents said they had a group of prostitutes -- all Spanish-speaking, noncitizens. The women were forced to engage in sexual intercourse with 30 customers a day, 50 weeks a year, investigators said.

Both homes are rental properties. Investigators said the defendants all worked together to move the women weekly.

Investigators said they believe it's been going on for at least four years.
