April 19--An arrest warrant was filed Monday for a man charged with the burglary of a Dane County Sheriff's deputy's residence last year in which bullets, handcuffs, a bullet-proof vest and other items were stolen.

Corey L. Buck, 33, no permanent address, was charged Monday in Dane County Circuit Court with four counts of burglary and four counts of receiving stolen property in connection with four Madison break-ins that occurred between Jan. 4 and Sept. 16, 2010.

A criminal complaint alleges Buck burglarized the apartment of a deputy while she was out of town between Sept. 12 and Sept. 16. Among the items taken were two loaded Glock 17 9mm magazines, two Dane County Sheriff's Office uniform shirts, a key for an office in the Public Safety Building, a knife, pepper spray, a silver whistle chain, a checkbook and DVDs.

The DVDs were recovered at Preplayed, 7610 Mineral Point Road, where an employee told police Buck had pawned them, the complaint states.

Buck also is charged with breaking into three other apartments, all in Downtown Madison, where computers, electronics and other items were stolen. Buck also took some of those items to local pawn shops, according to the complaint.

An acquaintance told police he believes Buck left town Jan. 17 on a bus to Chicago. ___
