Officer John Jones is making a standard traffic stop after clocking the motorist doing 70 mph in a school zone. After reporting in with the dispatch Officer Jones takes caution as he approaches the vehicle. Officer Jones sees a firearm near the driver. Before he can call for help, a flash occurs and a moment of peace before everything goes dark . . .

The situation happened so quickly that no one at dispatch knows of any problems, and Officer Jones’ life is now in jeopardy unless someone helps him, but no one knows of the life threatening event. Unless . . . Office Jones is wearing a Shot Tracer gunshot monitoring unit. Seconds after the gun discharges Shot Tracer transmits a message to dispatch alerting them to a detected event and providing a GPS position. Moments later, Shot Tracer detects that Officer Jones is now stationery and no further movement is detected and automatically transmits an accelerated alert to dispatch. Dispatch tries in vain to contact Office Jones and help is dispatched.

The quick response of Shot Tracer and the quick action of the responders Office Jones wakes up in recovery, his life spared thanks to a little half pager-sized module that knew that something was wrong before he did.

  • Belt attached: Clips to your belt or is placed within an article of clothing
  • Indicators: Front power and status indicators to provide basic visual feedback
  • Calibration: Internal tone speaker provides ½ second automatic calibrations on user programmed schedule

Sensors:

  • Altitude: This sensor provides altitude in increments of 10cm. Used to determine what floor in a building
  • Sensing: Patent Pending gunshot and explosive detection sensor to accurately determine valid events
  • Multiple Gunshot Sensor: Will provide elevated alerts when multiple gunshots are detected with a count of the gunshots detected
  • GPS/GNSS Location: When outside your location is determined with the internal 66 satellite location receiver

Location:

  • Classrooms location can be entered as either a GPS coordinates and can also include campus, building, hall and any other necessary information to help identify its position.

Audio Recording Capability:

  • Integrated into the Shot Tracer device is a FLASH memory based digital audio recorder with the capability of recording the on-scene events before and after. The recordings can be downloaded using the system USB ports for additional security. Up to 144 hours of quality audio recording are available enabling multiple event recordings. This tool provides a secure method of recording the event which will remove any false testimonies from the involved parties.

Display:

  • LCD display provides activity, status and other important information concerning the units, and its operation.

Alerting:

  • Once an alert is sent over cellular, Shot Tracer® servers will send messages to the following
  • Web based monitoring on the users private account
  • SMS message sent to a list of users that are set-up from the users private account
  • Email notification of the alert to a list of addresses
  • Directed alert to a specific Internet address
  • Custom configuration specific to the customers needs (additional charge may apply)
