Man Arrested for Allegedly Driving Impaired to Mich. Police Station
A man dropping off medication to his wife, who was in custody, at the Troy Police Department, was cited for operating while intoxicated after he was found to have a blood-alcohol content of 0.177%.
A 43-year-old man was arrested after driving intoxicated to the Troy Police Department to drop off medication for his wife in custody.
Officers noticed signs of impairment and conducted sobriety tests, including a preliminary breath test that registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.162%.
He was taken into custody and cited for operating while intoxicated after follow-up chemical breath tests showed levels of 0.175% and 0.177%.

The incident happened just after 6 p.m. July 23 when a man arrived at the lobby of the Troy Police Department to drop off medication for his wife, who was in the agency's short-term lockup facility, WWJ-TV reports. Police, however, noticed that the man appeared "unsteady on his feet," and officers could smell an odor of alcohol.
When police discovered he had driven himself to the station, they performed sobriety tests, which the man "performed poorly." A preliminary breath test registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.162%. Michigan's legal limit is 0.08%.
The man was taken into custody, and he registered levels of 0.175% and 0.177% on follow-up chemical breath tests. He was cited for operating while intoxicated.
