    STREAMLIGHT® DEBUTS CLIPMATE® USB

    April 9, 2014
Convenient, Flexible Clip-on Light Features Portable Rechargeability
    Related To: Streamlight Inc.

EAGLEVILLE, PA, April 8, 2014 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, introduced a rechargeable version of its versatile ClipMate®, the ClipMate® USB. The super-bright, multi-function clip-on light includes a built-in USB charge tab for convenient, cordless recharging.

The new light also features a flexible, PVC-coated cable “neck” to target the light beam where it is needed, and an unbreakable pocket clip that permits easy attachment to clothing.

“The ClipMate USB is ideal to carry for close-up work, such as reading a driver’s license, performing tasks around a campsite, or making equipment repairs,” said Streamlight Director of Project Management, Gregory A. Roshak. “The light’s sturdy clip grabs on to pockets, Molle belts or hats for hands-free use, and its USB rechargeable feature gives users the ultimate in portability.”

The ClipMate USB features amazing brightness and run time for its size.  It offers dual LEDs, including a white C4® LED that delivers 500 candela and 70 lumens on its high setting for 3.5 hours, and 10 lumens, 50 candela and a run time of 24 hours on low.  A 620-630 nm red LED is also provided to preserve night vision.  It offers 0.5 lumens and a 16-hour run time on its high setting, and 0.2 lumens and 65 hours of run time on low.  A push-button switch enables users to cycle through the light’s low, high, and off modes, and change from the white to the red LED.

The new light uses a Streamlight lithium polymer battery with a digital safety circuit to prevent overcharging.  Rechargeable up to 300 times, the battery can be recharged while in the product in 2.5 hours. The red LED in the light’s head is used for charging indication, displaying solid red while charging and blinking red when charged. The light also can be recharged with an optional AC wall adapter.

Featuring high-impact polymer construction, the ClipMate USB is extremely durable, abrasion-resistant, and lightweight. Measuring 3.2 inches long, the ClipMate USB weighs only 1.9 ounces with battery. IPX4 rated for water-resistant operation, the light also is impact-resistant tested to 1 meter.

The light includes an unbreakable clip, and a USB connector cover with a rubber gasket tethered to the light to prevent loss.

The ClipMate USB has an average MSRP of $55.00 and includes Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty
