BELLEVUE, WA — Icom America, radio solutions provider for government agencies and business and industry (B&I) users, announces the new F3230D Series portable radio. Powering 6.25 kHz efficiency technology, Icom's new digital portable radio is compatible with IDAS™ multi-site conventional, single-site trunking and multi-site trunking. The F3230D joins Icom’s IDAS MultiTrunk™ offerings, which include the F3210D Series portable and F5220D Series mobile released earlier this year. Additionally, customers interested in implementing Icom's multi-site coverage may locate and contact a provider through the company's new interactive online IDAS Coverage Map.
The new F3230D portable includes convenient and practical features for utilities, municipalities, government and B&I markets that need coverage over a large regional area. IDAS digital radio features include voice scrambler, stun/kill/revive functions and individual/group call. In MultiTrunk multi-site trunking mode, the roaming scan function retains optimal radio communication by automatically finding a new site when signal conditions decline for a user on the go. For added convenience, the channel announcement function audibly reports the channel when rotating the channel knob; this allows the user to make adjustments without having to look at the radio.
Icom's new radio is easy to use and features an 8-character alphanumeric LCD. The F3230D is Mil-Spec and rated IP67 for dust-tight and waterproof protection. Its bridge-tied load amplifier delivers a powerful 1000mW audio output. The F3230D's rugged construction and loud audio make it ideal for harsh, noisy and outdoor environments.
The F3230D Series is available now (F4230D UHF version only; F3230D VHF version is available early 2014) with a suggested retail price of $610.00. For more information, visit the F3230DS product page on Icom America's website.
