ATLANTA (June 25, 2007) -- Omnilink announced today its new partnership with the Professional Bail Agents of the United States, the country's largest national bail agent association. Under the terms of the agreement, Omnilink will provide PBUS members preferred rates on its Focalpoint offender monitoring solution, the industry's only product that is completely waterproof and capable of tracking people inside buildings, buses, trains and places where other GPS solutions do not work.
PBUS members include bail agents, commonly referred to as bondsmen, who keep track of defendants between arraignment and trial. These agents are ultimately responsible for ensuring defendant attendance at pre-trial hearings and at trial. If the defendant does not appear, the bail agent is charged a civil penalty in the amount of the bail bond.
Bail agents have various options for tracking defendants. Omnilink's offender monitoring solution offers the most effective tracking method for bail agents. With other monitoring solutions, defendants could avoid detection when traveling on public transportation or going into commercial buildings. In addition, many devices shut down when submerged in water and even in a shower. Omnilink's Focalpoint offender monitoring solution addresses all of these issues and adds benefits including real-time location information and mobile voice alerts.
"Electronic monitoring has proven to be an essential tool for today's bail agents," says Stephen Kreimer, executive director of PBUS. "We are listening to our membership's positive feedback about Omnilink and are extremely pleased to offer this exclusive benefit."
Omnilink's Focalpoint offender monitoring solution brings an unprecedented level of efficiency and effectiveness to offender management with the use of a combination of Global Positioning Systems (GPS), wireless network technologies and situation-specific sensors to transmit information to a monitoring center using commercial cellular networks and then applying predefined supervision rules on a Web-based application.
"By effectively managing defendants, bail agents play a powerful role in ensuring public safety," says Curtis Rapp, vice president of sales for Omnilink Systems. "To continue this great work in today's complex environment, it is critical for this group of professionals to have access to the most sophisticated technology and tools. We look forward to serving this community even further."
