The upgrade includes a suite of screen capture features that allow law enforcement and other investigators to quickly capture surveillance and security video from proprietary digital video recorder (DVR) players and easily produce usable images for identifying suspects and generating leads.

A variety of standard video pixel dimensions (640x480 up to 1920x1080) are available from an options menu. For video of non-standard size, VideoFOCUS Pro provides the user with a visual cropping tool to define the desired width and height. Any values created using the cropping tool are fully editable, allowing users to finely-tune the pixel dimensions.
For proprietary video players that fill an entire monitor display, a self-minimizing capture panel ensures video can be captured. VideoFOCUS Pro simplifies the capture process by keeping track of the DVR player window even when it moves, and acts intelligently to minimize the risk of overlapping windows interfering with capture. VideoFOCUS Pro can capture DVR images from a wide assortment of proprietary DVR players without many of the blackouts associated with players that require hardware acceleration. It can also easily capture time code and other information overlays without unexpected overlay dropouts.
