MILWAUKEE (September 11, 2007) -- Harley-Davidson police motorcycles and the officers who ride them have been helping protect and serve citizens around the world for a century. The iconic image of a police officer on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle will celebrate its 100th Anniversary when the Motor Company hosts a variety of law enforcement activities in Milwaukee August 27-30, 2008.
Celebrating 100 years of Police Sales events will take place during the Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary in Milwaukee. The Police Sales event is expected to open on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 and run through Saturday, August 30, 2008 and will include law enforcement related training and seminars, drill team exhibitions, riding skills training competitions, product demonstrations, vendor displays and children's activities. The events will be free and open to the public, although there may be a registration fee required to participate in the training and seminars.
More details regarding the event will be released on the Harley-Davidson Police Sales website, in the fall 2007 and spring 2008 issues of The Mounted Officer magazine and via other sources.
All housing for the Police Sales event will be coordinated through the 105th Anniversary housing process. Please refer to www.harley-davidson.com for specific instructions on securing accommodations.
Training registration instructions and any required fees for Police Sales training classes, seminars and the riding skills competitions will be published in the near future. Training and seminars are expected to be held on August 27-28 with riding skills training competition is expected to be held on August 29. Harley-Davidson Police Sales History Background
The first Harley-Davidson police motorcycle was delivered to the Detroit Police Department in 1908.
