CDEX, Inc., Security division proudly announces the introduction of its newest product, the ID2 Meth Scanner. The patented Scanner is designed to provide law enforcement agencies with an easy to use, accurate, cost effective tool for field identification of methamphetamine. The ID2 Meth Scanner uses UV light and the technology of enhanced photoemission spectroscopy to identify minute amounts of methamphetamine, down to nanometer levels on virtually all surfaces - skin, clothing, plastic, metals, wood or masonry surfaces and reads through plastic baggies. The ID2 Meth Scanner has been specifically designed to provide a more accurate and cost effective way of detecting meth. It features a laser pointer for pinpointing the exact area being scanned and gives quick, definitive, "Meth" present indication.
There is no interpretation of results required. The battery operated, hand-held device scans surfaces at a distance of 2-10", verified by an "in range" light, assuring that the operator is not touching or handling the methamphetamine. The current field tests use messy, expensive test kits, which require officers to mix chemicals, handle toxic methamphetamine, destroy evidence and generate hazardous waste. The safety of officers is a primary benefit of the Meth Scanner.
Read the review from the Santa Cruz County (AZ) Drug Task Force - "The scanner worked as advertised. It alerted quickly on meth content and residue that was present in clear baggies. I believe the scanner would be a useful tool for field use in that it allows for quick, presumptive confirmation of methamphetamine." The Cochise County Sheriff (AZ) stated "The Scanner worked effectively in the detection of Methamphetamines..."
The ID2 Meth Scanner is a revolutionary tool in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
