York City Police arrested a man after he allegedly punched an officer and then tried to carjack a passing driver just before midnight on Friday.
Officers in the department's Neighborhood Enforcement Unit stopped a vehicle John T. Hill III, no age or address provided, was riding in when they realized Hill was a wanted man, according to a news release from police.
When an officers tried to arrest Hill, he punched one of them in the face and fled on foot, police said.
Hill tried to get into a passing vehicle but was unable to do so and instead ran into Norms Bar in the 300 block of East College Avenue, police said.
Officers arrested Hill in the bar without incident, police said.
Police seized 117 bags of heroin, seven grams of crack cocaine, 16 grams of marijuana and $689 in cash, police said.
Hill was taken to the county's Central Booking Unit where he was arraigned on charges of possession with intent to deliver, aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrested and other charges, police said.
He remains in York County Prison on $600,000 bail, a prison spokesman said.
