A Columbus police helicopter is being looked over by a mechanic after an emergency landing at the Grandview Heights High School athletic fields.

Officer David Eubanks, who was piloting the helicopter with another officer as a passenger, said he brought it down about 6:15 p.m., after an engine light came on.

They landed safely in the high school's athletic fields at the corner of 5th Avenue and North Star Road. It's not yet clear what was wrong with the helicopter and a mechanic is at the scene to investigate.

The helicopter crew was searching for a missing person who was found later.
