A former Chalfont police officer charged with faking his own shooting pleaded guilty Tuesday to making false reports to law enforcement.
Jon Cousin entered the plea in Bucks County Court. He could face more than two years in prison.
Cousin's attorney said his client was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder related to his previous job as a transit police officer in Philadelphia. Cousin declined to comment Tuesday.
Authorities said that in August, Cousin told Bucks County dispatchers he had been shot while checking on a suspicious vehicle. A bullet was lodged in his bulletproof vest, but investigators found he lacked have the bruising seen in people shot while wearing a vest. Cousin resigned from the force after his arrest. - AP
