Feb. 05--A suspect was taken into custody Saturday after a nearly three-hour standoff in southwest Houston.
Lamarcus Christmas, 34, barricaded himself inside unit 114 at the Cambridge Village Apartments at the 12000 block of South Post Oak around 1:30 p.m. after Missouri City police attempted to serve him a warrant.
Christmas, who was alone in the apartment, refused to answer the door and began threatening to harm himself and the officers, authorities said.
Houston Police Department SWAT officers were called to negotiate.
He was taken into custody once the officers fired tear gas into the home shortly before 5 p.m.
He told police he had a weapon, but none was found when police went inside the apartment. Christmas was not injured and will be booked into the Missouri City jail.
Christmas, who has a prior arrest for burglary, was being served a warrant in connection to complaints his 36-year-old ex-girlfriend made Friday that he was stalking and making terroristic threats against her.
