SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego County sheriff says results of a second autopsy on a woman found hanging at a Coronado mansion won't convince him to reopen the case.
The nude body of Rebecca Zahau was found in July at the mansion of her boyfriend, Jonah Shacknai, two days after his 6-year-old son suffered a fatal fall under her care. Authorities ruled her death a suicide.
A pathologist hired by Zahau's family announced Tuesday on the "Dr. Phil" show that he doubts she killed herself. But Sheriff Bill Gore says the autopsy provided no new information and he says guests on the two-part show altered, misrepresented and omitted facts.
Gore's statement calls the show "nothing more than sensationalism at its lowest point" which caused the family more suffering.
