Nov. 15--The Elizabeth woman who apparently shot herself outside the Glassport police station fired a bullet into a car that belonged to her husband, an officer on the force, authorities said.

Jennifer Aydin Piccini, 40, died of a gunshot wound of the head, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office. Her husband, Michael Piccini, 35 and a part-time Glassport police officer, was on duty at the time of the shooting at about 9:20 p.m.

The manner of death is pending, but county homicide Lt. Andrew Schurman said it appears she shot herself.

Jennifer Piccini had a confrontation with her husband and the other on-duty officer before the shooting, Schurman said, and fired one shot into her husband's parked car.

Schurman said police would not release information on what prompted the confrontation or marital issues between the couple.
