COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.

A woman hit with a Taser on a college campus was able to remove the probes and continue fighting with a Colorado Springs officer on Friday, police said.

An officer said she was trying to get Lorie Lamonte to leave the Pikes Peak Community College downtown campus on Friday morning, when Lamonte grabbed the officer's handcuffs.

The officer said she hit Lamonte with a Taser, but Lamonte pulled out the probes making the Taser ineffective.

The officer continued to struggle with Lamonte and Lamonte hit the officer on the head with the handcuffs, police said.

The officer was treated for her injuries.

Lamonte was eventually subdued and arrested on suspicion of assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest, police said.
