Pa. Officer Injured Arresting Man With Sawed-Off Shotgun

An Allentown police officer was slightly injured early Friday as police arrested at least two men at a house and chased a third man running outside with a sawed-off shotgun.

Nov. 04--An Allentown police officer was slightly injured early Friday as police arrested at least two men at a house and chased a third man running outside with a sawed-off shotgun, according to police radio reports.

The police were investigating a report of a home invasion in the 500 block of N. Ninth Street at 12:15 a.m. when the man ran out the back door of a house with the shotgun, police radioed.

As officers looked for the gunman, others continued searching through the house for possible victims. One man was treated for pepper-spray and a shoulder injury, and two men outside were taken into custody, police radioed.

One officer was treated for injuries to his arm and a finger after he scuffled with one of the men who was arrested.
