Nov. 01--ANDERSON, Ind. -- Madison County sheriff's detectives continue to investigate a Friday night shooting after the victim refused to cooperate with them.
The man -- who gave police a false identity -- checked himself out of the hospital against medical advice after detectives began questioning him about getting shot, Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson said.
Around 7:30 p.m. the Sheriff's Department received a call about the shooting from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department as the man showed up at a Hamilton County hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach. The man told investigators he was walking on Indiana 13 near the Waffle House when he was shot by two men driving a blue pickup truck.
He was transported from St. Vincent hospital in Hamilton County to St. Vincent on 86th Street in Indianapolis.
Richardson said detectives continue to try to identify the victim and possible suspects. Anyone with information about the shooting or its circumstances is asked to call the Sheriff's Department detectives at 646-4014.
