A part-time Cambria County police officer was in court Monday after accusations she illegally recorded a conversation between two other officers.

A pretrial hearing for Jody Nelson, 27, was continued and her trial is scheduled to be held in March. However, Nelson's attorney, Tom Dickey, said the trial is likely to be continued as well because of his schedule.

Prosecutors said Nelson was working with the Nanty Glo Police Department in August 2009 when she illegally used a recording device in a police cruiser to record a conversation involving two of her fellow police officers.

Since then, Nelson was suspended from her job but maintains her innocence. Dickey said Nelson is not likely to strike a plea deal.

Nelson also works part-time at a few other Cambria County police departments. It was not known as of Monday morning if she was suspended from those departments as well.
