MANCHESTER, N.H. --
A police officer suffered a severely dislocated shoulder during a struggle with a suspect early Tuesday morning, police said.
Officer Morgan Lovejoy and Officer Casey Seigle observed three people "acting suspiciously" near Amherst Street at about 2:45 a.m., and one of them was pulling the handles on cars, police said.
Police approached and two men fled on foot, according to police.
Kevin Hafford, 26, of Manchester, was arrested and charged with resisting detention and prowling.
Lovejoy and Seigle continued to chase another man, Steven Acorn, 40, of Hudson, police said. Seigle suffered a severely dislocated shoulder in a violent struggle with Acorn, according to police.
Police said Acorn pulled the radio from Lovejoy's belt and continued to fight him before another officer arrived and helped subdue Acorn.
Acorn suffered a laceration and minor abrasions to his face. He was taken to Elliot Hospital for treatment, police said.
He was charged with resisting arrest, a felony, and he was also held on a warrant for simple assault out of Hudson.
Seigle was treated and released and is recovering at home.
