CHEYENNE - In what officials described as a "movie-like moment," a Cheyenne police officer saved a potential suicide victim from jumping off the Downtown Parking Complex early Saturday morning.
Police Sgt. Ryan Trimble was patrolling the complex at 307 W. 17th St. at 2:30 a.m. Saturday when he saw a vehicle speeding through the garage, heading for the highest parking level.
There he found a man standing on the ledge of the complex.
The man jumped down onto the parking garage floor. But he returned to the ledge when Trimble approached, and he threatened to jump.
Trimble immediately ran up behind the man, grabbed his clothes and pulled him to safety.
He restrained the potential victim until emergency personnel arrived to transport him to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.
The man was not arrested or cited for any kind of law violation.
The Cheyenne Police Department would not release the suicidal man's name and age because he was not cited or arrested.
