DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. --
A 4-year-old boy was sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after he was shot while riding in his mother's car.
DeKalb police said the mother was driving down Redan Road when she she accidentally cut off a white SUV.
The mother told police that the driver of the SUV then started to tailgate her car.
When she pulled off to the side of the road to let the SUV pass her, the driver fired his gun towards her car. The bullet went through the car and struck the 4-year-old in the buttock, according to DeKalb police reports.
The child was transported to Children's Hospital of Atlanta Egleston with non-life-threatening injuries.
