PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. --

A 49-year-old Spartanburg man survived a five-story fall Monday.

Pigeon Forge Police Chief Jack Baldwin said 49-year-old David Foltz survived after he fell from a balcony and landed on a car at about 10 p.m. Monday.

Baldwin said Foltz told officers he leaned too far over a railing at the James Manor Hotel and fell.

Baldwin said Foltz landed on a Chrysler PT Cruiser below.

Foltz was airlifted to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville.

Baldwin said Foltz was conscious and talking to officers after the fall.

There's no word on Foltz's condition.
