OMAHA, Neb. --

Police said a crime prevention officer having lunch Wednesday helped foil an attempted robbery at a fast-food restaurant.

According to authorities, Seth B. Miller, 29, entered the Burger King near Dodge Street and Park Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Police said an on-duty plain-clothed Omaha police officer having lunch in the restaurant noticed Miller come in and saw the clerk run to the back of the store.

The officer said he approached the man and asked him if he was robbing the place. When the man said he was, the officer ordered the man to the ground at gunpoint and called dispatch for assistance. Additional officers arrived, and Miller was found to be unarmed, according to police.

Authorities said Miller was arrested on a charge of attempted robbery.
