Pa. Police Departments Close to Consolidating
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. --
Three northern Lancaster County police departments are one step closer to consolidating.
The Clay, Penn and Warwick township boards have studied whether a regional police department would benefit residents.
The study, finished in January, found a regional department would maintain or even improve police service, improve efficiency and reduce duplication, plus it could save taxpayer money.
Now, each township will schedule public meetings to discuss the idea with its residents.
