ENID, Okla. --

The Enid Police Department said four arrests were made as drugs, drug paraphernalia and improvised explosive devices were found in a house after a patrol officer obtained information during a traffic stop and tipped off narcotics detectives Saturday morning.

Officer Aaron Barber said he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation at about 2:30 a.m. and he gained information indicating that the occupants of a house at 1016 E. Maple, Enid were involved in the illegal possession and distribution of controlled dangerous substances.

Narcotics detectives said an arrest warrant was obtained for the house of Matthew Davis, 42, due to Barber's tip and the fact that Davis have past arrests for obstructing an officer, possession and distribution of a controlled and dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The police department said it decided to use the SWAT team to enter Davis' house because information indicated that Davis had numerous cameras positioned around the house with a surveillance system monitor inside.

Narcotics detectives said they found about 10 grams of methamphetamine packaged in individual bags for resale, scales and packaging materials used in the distribution of illegal narcotics along with a working scanner monitoring police frequencies, materials for making explosives, and two improvised explosive devices.

Police said the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Bomb Squad was called in to neutralize the explosives.

Detectives said six people, including an 8-year-old child, were found inside the house. Marijuana was found on two of the occupants, police said.

Detectives said they arrested Davis and Charlene Davis, 36, and charged them with possession of a controlled and dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana in the presence of a minor child under the age of 12, possession of a scanner in the commission of a felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an improvised explosive device.

Police said Candice A. Stengle, 55, and Walter Lee Black, 30, were also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana in the presence of a minor child under the age of 12 and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The child was placed into the custody of the Department of Human Service, police said.

Detectives said the investigation is ongoing and investigators are examining and cataloging evidence.
